I was drawn to Winthrop because I felt a level of comfort, but a challenge to grow at the same time. I grew up in a family-oriented home in a very small town, where I learned the value of relationships. Winthrop reminded me of my upbringing with the small class sizes and the ease of getting to know people. However, Winthrop also had the big school feel because of the diversity that I get to see here.

The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) is designed to prepare you for initial certification to be a classroom teacher.
